About Maddy
Whether you are facing a major life transition, grieving a loss, feeling weighed down by low self-esteem, or simply trying to better understand yourself, Maddy is here to create a space where you can feel truly seen and comfortable as you are. She enjoys guiding clients in reconnecting with their strengths, values, and sense of self as they slow down in the midst of difficult seasons.
Therapy with Maddy is rooted in collaboration and curiosity. She takes a person-centered and trauma-informed approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strengths-based interventions. Maddy believes that the challenges we face make sense when we take the time to understand ourselves, experiences, relationships, and the expectations we carry.
Her therapeutic style is authentic, grounded, and direct. While therapy often involves difficult conversations, Maddy believes there is room for hope and moments of laughter throughout the process. For clients who desire it, Maddy enjoys incorporating faith into the therapeutic process as a source of growth and healing.
Maddy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNCW in 2024 and her Master’s degree in Social Work from UNCW. She has experience working in an outpatient mental health setting and specialized care for eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Outside of the therapy space, Maddy enjoys trying a new recipe, adventuring outside, spending quality time with family and friends, and getting involved in the community.
