For months your body has been the subject of appointments. Trying to conceive, or newly postpartum, or living with something chronic that still doesn’t have a diagnosis. You’ve been praying about it, and the praying has gotten complicated. And the people closest to you keep asking how you’re doing, which turns out to be the hardest question of all.
You don’t have to have any of it worked out first. Not your health, not your faith, not what you want from either.

Yolandi Rause is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and the Clinical Director at Allora Rise Counseling and Therapy, seeing women 18 and up at the practice’s Wrightsville Beach office and by telehealth throughout North Carolina. Her clients come to her most often for female or chronic health concerns, for faith integration, and for trauma. Frequently all three are the same conversation.

She works most often with three things.
The faith journey
There are things you wouldn’t say out loud in church, and this is where they can go. This is Yolandi’s deepest area, including religious and spiritual trauma, and she treats doubt as part of faith rather than a failure of it.
Women’s health
You’re waiting on your body, or grieving what it didn’t do. Yolandi works with new and expecting mothers, women trying to conceive, perinatal and postpartum concerns, pregnancy and infant loss, and chronic illness and hormonal health.
Interpersonal relationships
Your family or your marriage has settled into something you can see clearly and still can’t change. She works with relational trauma, patterns that keep repeating, and family systems that aren’t working.
Beyond those three, Yolandi also works with anxiety and social anxiety, burnout and chronic stress, depression, emotional regulation, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) including sexual trauma, grief and traumatic loss, family conflict, and life transitions.

Clients describe Yolandi as nonjudgmental while still pushing them to grow, and say she keeps their own definition of their best in mind rather than substituting her own.
She’s relatable and funny, and she gets down to business. Alongside her caseload she supervises therapists and directs clinical work across the practice.

She’s trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems, somatic and nervous system approaches, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, person-centered work, and the SYMBIS premarital assessment. In practice she reaches most often for EMDR, ACT, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Outside the office, Yolandi comes from an all-female household, is a new mother working it out as she goes, and helps run a business. Clients who are in the middle of something they can’t schedule their way out of tend to find that useful.
Your first session
Yolandi wants two questions answered first: what is bringing you in, and why now. Then if therapy worked, what would your life actually look like? She will ask whether you want someone to listen, to challenge you, or both, so you get what you came for rather than what she assumes you want. If faith is part of this for you, she asks about your history with it and whether you’re open to prayer or scripture, and nothing happens on that front unless you ask for it.
Whether Yolandi is your fit
Yolandi works one-to-one with women 18 and up, and offers clinical supervision and consultation to other therapists. Her practice is built around the faith journey, women’s health, and interpersonal relationships.

If that is what brought you here, a free fifteen-minute consultation with Yolandi is the fastest way to know. If you’re carrying something else, email info@allorarise.com or call or text 910-408-2302, and we’ll point you to the therapist here who works with it.
