You’re doing fine. That’s the answer you give, and most of it is true. The work gets done, people call you reliable, nobody would guess. What you don’t say out loud is that you’re braced for something you can’t name, that you replay conversations for hours afterward, and that you’re tired in a way sleep doesn’t solve.
Nothing about this has to be at breaking point. None of it means you’re broken. These are protections you learned somewhere for a reason.

Shaina Frank is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Allora Rise Counseling and Therapy, seeing adults 18 and up at the practice’s Cargo District office in Wilmington and by telehealth throughout North Carolina.

She works most often with three things.
Perfectionism and high-functioning anxiety
You look like you have it together, and you’re exhausted by the pressure you put on yourself, constantly feeling you have to do more or be more to be enough. People-pleasing is often part of it, saying yes to everyone but yourself. Shaina works on the standard itself rather than helping you meet it faster.
Burnout and work-life balance
You have been in survival mode long enough that it feels normal. The work is getting out of it, sorting out what actually matters to you, and building a life that doesn’t leave you empty at the end of every day.
Relational trauma and toxic relationship patterns
You keep ending up in the same dynamic with different people. Shaina works on why it repeats, heals what sits underneath it, and helps you build relationships that feel safe and honest.
Beyond those three, Shaina also works with anxiety and panic, OCD, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) including childhood and sexual trauma, grief and traumatic loss, ADHD, self-esteem, life transitions, and family conflict.

Clients describe Shaina as direct, genuine, funny, and willing to challenge them when it’s useful.
Shaina is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained and also works in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic and nervous system approaches, and which one she reaches for depends on what you came in with. She uses ACT with clients caught in anxiety, panic, perfectionism, or OCD, so they can hold difficult thoughts differently instead of being run by them. She uses CBT when unhelpful thought patterns and daily behaviors are keeping the anxiety going. And she uses EMDR when the pain is rooted in trauma or relational trauma that still shapes how someone feels, thinks, and relates today, starting only when you feel grounded and ready.

She’s from Wilmington, has a husband and a daughter and two rescue dogs, and manages the Cargo District office for the practice.
Your first session
The first session is about what brought you in and why this feels like the right time to reach out. Shaina asks both directly, because whatever sits underneath them is usually the real starting point.

It’s also in this session where the relationship gets built, because therapy works when you’re comfortable enough to be honest, ask hard questions, and stop managing how you come across. You should leave feeling heard, and clear that you’re not doing this alone.
Whether Shaina is your fit
Shaina works one-to-one with adults 18 and up. High-achieving professionals who look fine from the outside, women carrying work and caregiving at the same time, and young adults sorting out career and identity under the pressure to have it figured out already.

If that is what brought you here, a free fifteen-minute consultation with Shaina is the fastest way to know. If you’re carrying something else, email info@allorarise.com or call or text 910-408-2302, and we’ll point you to the therapist here who works with it.
